Emory University men’s basketball will host Augusta University in a Homecoming exhibition on Friday, October 23, at 5:30 p.m. The game is scheduled for the Woodruff Physical Education Center in Atlanta. It is the first preseason appearance for Emory’s 2026–27 squad, according to the university’s weekly preview.
Homecoming provides the first exhibition test
The Eagles are scheduled to open their regular season at home against Piedmont on November 9. The Augusta exhibition gives Emory an earlier opportunity to evaluate its team in competition. Because the October 23 meeting is an exhibition, it should be understood separately from the regular-season schedule.
Emory’s women will also take part in Homecoming basketball activities with a Blue and White intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday, October 24. That event is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the same facility. Together, the dates give supporters a first look at both basketball programs before the regular season begins.
GSB Take
An exhibition is most useful as a chance to evaluate decisions and communication against another opponent. Emory can learn more from organized possessions and defensive consistency than from treating the final margin as a season forecast. The Homecoming setting makes this a natural introduction, with the more meaningful test arriving when the November schedule starts.
