The Atlanta Gladiators entered October with an initial 30-player training camp roster as they prepared for the 2026–27 ECHL season. The October 2 announcement listed 19 forwards, nine defensemen and two goaltenders. The group established the starting point for camp before subsequent affiliate additions changed the competition for opening-week assignments.

The forward list included familiar names such as Adam Eisele, Mike McNamee, Josh Winquist and Branden Troock. Eisele returned after scoring three goals in 10 regular-season games and four goals in six playoff appearances for Atlanta last season. His September re-signing announcement also detailed a 20-point senior season at Ohio State before he began his professional career.

The defense group featured Ryan Conroy, Brendan Less, Andrew Jarvis and newcomer Owen Murray. Murray signed his first professional contract after four college seasons at UMass, where he totaled 36 points in 126 games. He served as the Minutemen’s captain in 2025–26 and finished that season with 10 points and a plus-12 rating in 34 appearances.

Ethan Haider and tryout candidate Anthony Shrum were the two goaltenders in the initial announcement. Atlanta also identified tryout status for forwards Luke Croucher and Blake Humphrey and defensemen Logan Acheson and Dustin Perillat. Those designations make the early roster an account of camp participants while the team evaluates its regular-season options.

The club’s October 6 camp schedule listed public practices at the Atlanta IceForum and an October 10 intrasquad game. The announced sessions gave the staff a setting to evaluate players before the start of games that count in the standings. Atlanta then received forwards Austin Roest, Hiroki Gojsic and Ben Strinden from Milwaukee on October 11.

The Gladiators begin the regular season at Gas South Arena against Norfolk on October 17 at 7:10 p.m. Eastern. The initial roster’s mix of returners and newcomers presents different experience levels within each positional group. The opening-week decisions will show how the staff distributes those players into the roles required for a two-game home weekend.

GSB Take

Atlanta’s camp gives the staff a substantial group to evaluate before the opener. Returning players such as Eisele provide recent professional experience, while Murray’s college background gives the defense another prospect to assess. The most useful outcome is a lineup with clear responsibilities and dependable execution as the season moves from practice work to league games.
